How to make my microwave work only using solar panels?
Hi,
I got really interested in the whole concept of solar panels. I read a couple of articles and saw a few videos on how to convert solar energy to electricity, but what I want to know is how can I make the microwave work, only using solar panels?
There's a lot of important details, but the short answer is that you would need a system capable of supplying around 1000W, at 120VAC and capable of handling the current (which would be around 8A).
DEM Awarded $1.5M in Federal Stimulus Funds for Solar Projects
The Rhode Archipelago Department of Environmental Management issued the following word release:
The Department of Environmental Management has been awarded $1.5 million in federal funds from the RI Workplace of Energy Resources to install solar panels at nine DEM facilities throughout the state. The solar panels are designed to diverge a start up the energy from the sun into electricity that will be used to offset the energy needs at the maintain facilities. The funding was awarded as part of the American Reinvestment and Reclamation Act (ARRA) of 2009.
The majority of solar panels will be mounted on existing roof structures on a criterion aluminum racking system. Panels will be attached to standing seam roofs with clips, and to asphalt shingled roofs using a "rapid-mount" system. Each 40-inch wide by 66-inch ripe panel is one and a half inches thick, and will be raised slightly above the roof fa. The number of panels used at each facility will vary depending on the size of the introduction. Each panel contains 60 square mono-crystalline room modules that will collect and convert solar energy to electricity. Every placement will include a number of new inverters to convert the electricity from express current produced by the panels to alternating current used by the building. All the installations will be tied to the stirring grid and will include new bi-directional meters to count the amount of excitement that is being made, so that the state's electric bill can be reduced accordingly. The solar panels meet the requirements of the Buy American Act.
