The Spa at Rockliffe Hall
Normally the reminiscences of working on a Saturday would make me shudder, but when I realised that it would associate with a visit to the spa at Rockliffe Hall Hotel, the prospect on the spur of the moment seemed far more appealing.
Located just outside of Darlington, Rockliffe boasts a PGA golf class, a Michelin starred chef, and a world class spa, so I had squeaky hopes for my visit. On arrival I was met by one of the spa butlers, who gave me a guided stroll of the facilities. His courteous manners set me at ease immediately, and were indicative of the treatment I was set to gain for the rest of the day.
After a quick change and a short stop in the sauna, I headed upstairs to the spa region to meet Chloe, the beautician who would be conducting my Sacred Simplicity Spa treatment. After asking me about my skin type and explaining the treatment, the initially-annoying-but-oddly-calming music came on and what can only be described as the ultimate pamper meeting began.
After a relaxing back massage, my face was cleansed, toned and moisturised with some pacifying organic products, which Chloe assured me would help with my difficult skin. Whilst waiting for my face mask to effort, I was given a foot rub, which was surprisingly enjoyable (speaking as someone who detests having my feet touched!)
